The Stericycle® Mailback System is government approved and comprised of a custom designed, FDA approved mailable sharps container, a postage prepaid return-by-mail shipping box, manifest and instructions for use. When the drug therapy is concluded, or when the sharps container is full, the patient or nurse places the sharps container back into the provided return packaging. The return packaging and the enclosed sharps container are then mailed to a Stericycle® treatment facility for destruction. The weight and destruction of each system is documented. Hard copy certification of proper disposal is returned to the generator and available online at meStericycle.com. Other sizes and systems also available.
